What is a Seamless Pipe?

Alloy200 is a solution strengthened, commercially pure forging material with good mechanical properties over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive agents, especially hydroxides. Alloy200 is modified to control carbon (0.02 max.) so that it will not be embrittled by intergranular precipitates in many processes at temperatures from 600 ° f to 1400 ° F. Generally, the element limits of nickel200 and nickel201 are combined into a double certified chemical to obtain a single alloy nickel200 / 201 with the required alloy properties.

At higher temperatures, alloy200 products may suffer graphitization, which may cause serious damage to the performance of the. When the operating temperature is expected to exceed 600 ° F, the carbon content becomes critical. Nickel 201 has a low carbon content, which makes the material resistant to graphitization, so it is not easy to embrittle. Alloy200 and nickel 201 are approved for the construction of pressure vessels and components in accordance with ASME Boiler and pressure vessel code, Part VIII, Part 1.
